洗練されたポップ作品を次々に生み出したブレッドの２ＣＤベスト。ほぼ全てのヒット・有名曲は収録されており、ブレッドの魅力満載のセット。

ただし、全盛期の曲に比べて落ちる再結成時やソロの曲（グッドバイガールは好き）が結構多く収録されており、後半ダレル感じがします。ブレッドの歴史を全部くまなく知りたいという人でなければ、初めてブレッドを聞きたいという人にとっては冗長かも。今はエッセンシャルとか、音質の良い一枚ものベストもあるので、まずそちらから入ることをお勧めします。

ブレッドを知るには、もちろん6枚のオリジナルアルバムをすべて聴くのがベストであるが、彼らのエッセンスを最大限凝縮したのがこのＣＤで、初心者も往年のファンも楽しめる。全世界でヒットしたシングルはもちろん、ジェイムス・グリフィン＆ロブ・ロイヤーの‘隠れた名曲’も多くチョイスされており、Ｊ＆Ｒファンとしては嬉しいばかりだ。

メロディアスなカントリーポップ「TOO MUCH LOVE」「SHE'S THE ONLY
ONE」などは爽快な心地にさせてくれる。デヴィッド・ゲイツのソロワークも収められており、‘無人島に持っていくなら’この一枚！

Breadといえば、「If」や「Guitar man」などが有名ですが、「Aubrey」など隠れた名曲が数々あります。オリジナルアルバム全てを揃えてもいいのですが、この２枚組には、解散後のソロ曲もあり、貴重です。特にメロディアスな曲を書くデビッド・ゲイツのソロ曲は素敵な曲ばかり。１枚物のベスト盤には収めきれない曲が２枚のＣＤにぎっちり入っていますので、お得なのもお勧めです。ベスト盤を買うなら、少しお金を足してでもこちらが良いです。以前持っていたベスト盤は、これを購入すると共に売りました。
