動物をテーマにした本がたくさんある中、オリバーさんの文と原田さんの写真が光っています。大変な過去を持った動物たちのことを淡々と話し、さすがに日本最大（日本最高）の動物保護団体アークの代表者！他のプロでもなかなか撮れない動物の表情は原田さんの熱意や動物への理解、また動物たち自体の素直さが見事にマッチしています。

動物に興味のある方、ペットを飼いたいとお考えの方、ぜひお読みください。

今年は、ＡＲＫに一度出かけることが出来た。
出迎えて頂いたスタッフに
ＡＲＫの考え方や動物たちへの接し方について
丁寧に案内を受けた。
日差しの厳しい暑い夏の日であったが、スタッフの皆さんは
その暑さを厭うことなく、動物達に接していたのが印象に残る。
　優しく微笑んでおられたのが、オリバー女史だと知ったのは
後日になってからである。

単に動物が大好きというだけでは、
このような活動を続け、支えていくことは出来ない。
小さな命に対しての、深い使命感からであろう。
　
　『ハチドリのひとしずく』･････
大火の森に、ついばんで来た水を何度も落とす
ハチドリのクリキンディ。
　何を無駄なことを とせせら笑うだけの
森の動物達に、クリキンディ言う。
　「･･わたしは、わたしの出来ることをしているだけ」

　少しでも多くの人が
ＡＲＫの活動を知ってくれれば
多くのきっかけが、　　　　きっと、　かならず
生まれてくるものと信ずる。
失われる必要のない命が、　きっと、　かならず
少なくなるものと信ずる。
