前作CAROLからユニット名をTMNにリニューアルしてからの作品。
当時としてはリニューアルという言葉があまり
浸透していなくてかなり話題になりました（今では当たり前だけど）
音楽もファンタジックなものからロックに方向転換して
今まで使ってこなかったギターも加わり骨太サウンドで
完璧にリニューアルの言葉通り変わってしまいました。

シングルカットされた1曲目、更に疾走感のある2曲、
ダンステイストの3曲目、5曲目は小室さんのシンセロック炸裂！
後半には初めて木根さんのソロもあり聴き応え充分！
ロックは古さを感じさせません、今聞いてもかなり新鮮です。
気に入った方は是非、ライブビデオとかも見て欲しいです
ホント、クールでかっこいいですよ

リリース当時に聴いた時は、それまでのＴＭと全く違うロックで乾いたサウンドに戸惑い
最近まで敬遠していたが、15年ぶりくらいに久々に通して聴いてみて、
新たな発見の連続に驚きと感動を覚え、以来ヘビロテとなったアルバム。
16連符のバスドラムや葛城哲哉のギターなどに象徴される硬派な音世界には、
小室のポップセンス抜け切らぬ曲調や宇都宮の甘いボーカルは確かに今でも若干の
違和感を感じるが、曲ごとの個性やアレンジは非常にすばらしく、コンセプトが一貫していて
ブレがない。「TENDER IS THE NIGHT」はアルバム中で最も価値のある１曲だと思う。
退廃的なムードの中で流れる珠玉のバラード。当時と今とでここまで印象がガラリと
変わったアルバムもない。昔聴いていた人にもぜひまた聴いてほしい。
きっと新しい何かが発見できるはずだから。

　Ｔｉｍｅ　ｔｏ　ｃｏｕｎｔ　ｄｏｗｎはまさに「爆発」というべきパワフルな作品。６９／９９はドラムを中心にした推進力でグイグイ引っ張られる。Ｒｈｙｔｈｍ　ｒｅｄ　ｂｅａｔ　ｂｌａｃｋは比較的落ち着いたテンポながらもたれていない。Ｓｅｃｒｅｔ　ｒｈｙｔｈｍも個人的には好きな曲の１つである。ここにあげた曲はいずれも格好よさ、気持ちよさでは一級品。
