Who doesn't enjoy a great pun? I know I do. Recently, I had the opportunity to read Pun Enchanted Evenings by David R. Yale. My reading environment was perfect: I was in need of a little mental escape given that I was captive airport dweller waiting for a long delayed flight home. Fortunately, Pun Enchanted Evening did not disappoint and provided me with so many laughs that a few of my fellow stranded travelers queried as to what I was reading.
Pun Enchanted Evenings is a slender book that is filled cover to cover with laugh out loud puns. A few of my favorites include: What do you call a sad dog that loves fruit: A melon collie; What would you call a person who automatically give you advice every time your pet barks? Dogmatic; and What do you call it when your most valuable player takes a bathroom break? A champ peein'!
Pun Enchanted Evenings is a fun way to pass a few solitary hours or equally fun to share as a read out loud book.

You'll want to share this very funny book with friends and family. It's loaded with original puns on just about every subject imaginable, from railroads, dogs, bakers, and crows, to matadors, farmers, and pigs with laryngitis. Some of them will make you smile or chuckle, but others will get you laughing out loud, even when you read them a second time. My favorite is: "What's the leading cause of divorce in long-term marriages? A stale mate!"

From the erudite to the banal, every level of pun is fair game for laughter

"Pun Enchanted Evenings" is a delight to read, full of all sizes of laughs from a tickling giggle to the full belly laugh. Slightly naughty and definitely (semi) adult in its humor, "Pun Enchanted Evenings" is just what the Dr. ordered for that cranky invalid who is not quite ready to leave the infirmary yet but who needs amusement and entertainment while convalescing. Or it can just be a day-brightener too. Here are a couple of "Pundits" from its jewels:"647. What musical instrument would help along disarmament talks? An accord-ion! 331. Why would bringing an art museum guide along insure a successful hunt? Because the docent will attract big bucks! 541. What would you call a linguistic study of Julius Caesar's last words? Et tu mology!" And so many more. From the erudite to the banal, every level of pun is fair game for laughter in "Pun Enchanted Evenings," proving once and for all conclusively that a sense of humor is a sign of higher intelligence (surprise)!
