Despite the title and sub title, this book is for paper scrappers, not digi ones. The vast majority of tips, ideas, etc. is how to make things on your computer, print them out, cut them out, and then use them to embellish paper layouts--print out journaling blocks and put them on your paper layouts, print out clip art and put them on your paper layouts, etc.
For some ideas, where you'd think using a computer would be the first choice, it's relegated to almost an after-thought. For instance, there is a section on using embossing powders on your photos. Then, in a little box off near the bottom of the page, is a note that says "if you're squeamish about embossing real photos, use your graphics program" to do it. Seems to me, in a book on DIGITAL techniques, using your graphics program to emboss a photo should have been the first choice, and then it should have offered you some instructions or at least ideas on how to do that as the title of the book alludes it's going to do. But it doesn't.
Even the chapter on software is questionable. It recommends three scrapbook programs (Hallmark, Art Explosion, PhotoExpress), and not any of the industry standards such as PSP, PS/PSE, DIP, etc. I know that on the digital scrap boards I visit, people with those programs have tons of problems, so I really wondered how in the world they could recommend them.
There are a few totally digital layouts shown, but they are the distinct minority and no "tips/techniques or advanced tricks" are offered for making truly digital layouts.
The only reason I'm giving it two stars is simply because I can get ideas for digital layouts from the pictures, not because this book offered any "digital tips and techniques." I didn't get so much as a single "advanced trick for digital scrapbooking" as the subtitles claim.
