Actually made me want to play a Tiefling

Out of the new core races for 4e, Tieflings were my least favorite by a mile. I like Dragonborn, I like the split between Eladrin and Elves, but Tieflings? Eh.
I picked this up at the Free RPG Day in June, because I wanted to support my FLGS for hosting it, and this was the only 4e book they had that I didn't. I hadn't planned on getting it beforehand, but I'm glad I did.
It presents a wide range of options for Tieflings, and quite a healthy amount of setting fluff. I got a better view of Bael Turath, a better glimpse into their society, and a good amount of respect for their new 4e (as opposed to 2e Planescape) background.
I'm a convert. Tieflings are okay with me.

32 pages to the tiefling you love

32 Pages to give you a better look into the tiefling race of Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition. It starts with a short story then dives into the history with a few pages expanding the information provided in the players handbook. A few more pages cover some noble backgrounds and the rest of the book concentrates on arcane, divine, martial, primal and psionic characters including backgrounds and some new paragon paths. Add in the last pages which include some new feats, tiefling magic items a couple quest ideas and one epic destiny and it's not too bad for the $10 retail price.
I find these books could use a little more insight into the mind of the races they cover, but are still a great addition to the gaming table. If you are expecting to find out what makes a tiefling tick, traditions they might follow, how they feel about looking so evil and how they deal with the daily prejudice against them it falls short.
It is a very 4e book and if you enjoy more options for your tiefling and some help coming up with a good background this is a good book. I see how this would be especially helpful for new players or someone who has never given the tiefling a try.
All that being said it does expand upon what was provided in the players handbook and will help you with tieflings in your game. It's $10 retail and all in all a pretty good read.

So, here's the skinny on this one and it's companion, the Dragonborn booklet. Are they going to make or break your character or campaign? No, not by a long ways, especially if you're a decent role-player or DM. However, the $10 price tag for these 32-page gems are really worth it, if just for the background information given in both booklets about the ancient empires of Bael Turath (tieflings) and Arkhosia (Dragonborn). The ruins of both of these fallen empires are the generic settings for many adventure sites in the modern 4th ed. world.
This product follows the outline laid out in PHR:Dragonborn in that it starts with fluff and history of the race, outlines some of the different noble houses of Bael Turath and their roles within the empire. It follows this with a power-focused (arcane, divine, melee, primal, psion) analysis of Tieflings and which classes within those powers the race excells at, complete with background story hooks and paragon paths. The booklet ends with feats for the three tiers, quests specific to tieflings, and an epic destiny: Heir to the Empire.
Overall, I would recommend this for any player interested in fleshing out their Tiefling character, or any DM that is even remotely interested in the Bael Turath/Arkhosia history and settings. 4 stars for not being an absolute "must-have", but still an excellent product that I wish they would do more of for the less-standard races.
