Donald byrdのBN-LA作が一挙に再発。といってもまだ輸入盤では入手しやすいんですけどね．．

このアルバムも基本的にはマイゼル兄弟による金太郎飴な所謂スカイハイサウンドなのですが、
侮るなかれ、ここでの音作りは彼等の手掛けたものでもトップクラス。
＃２、３、４といったあたりは数多くのアーティストにサンプリングされまくっております。
特に＃2はイントロのピアノからストリングス、カリンバ〜女性コーラスと曲構成も見事な名曲。

ただご多分に漏れずバードのペットは出番少な目なんですが..
50〜60年代の彼が好きな人にとってはなんてことない詰まらないアルバムになってしまうでしょうが、
クラブ世代にとってはマスターピースともいえる一枚。

発売当時アナログ盤で聴きましたが、CDで聴いてもやっぱり最高です。
音がクリアーなのは当然ですが、30年近くたった今でもグルーブ感は古さを感じさせません。リズムセクションは全曲チャック・レイニー（ベース）、ハービー・メイスン（ドラムス）で当時のベスト＆マストです。ジャンルやカテゴリーを超越したブラック・ミュージックの傑作中の傑作とよべるアルバムです。

６曲目は真夜中の曲ですが、その他６曲はまさに宇宙への上昇気流にのった、すさまじく気持ちのいいのが並んでます。落ち込んだ人には逆に合わないかもしれませんが、ちょっと気持ちが沈んでるとかそういった時に効果抜群の清涼ミュージックです。
