I learn best by demonstration

It's true. I've always learned best by being shown how. To date I've looked mostly to video training for complex software instruction. That's the useful strategy which the authors addressed. They show you with step by step screen shots and simple explanations what to do and why. I found the value of both video training combined with the utility of a book which allows you to move at your own pace. If you are interested in Photoshop from a photographers perspective and are beginner to intermediate in your skill set this is an excellent resource.

QuickSteps Essential For CS4 Users

Of the many books out there to assist the Photoshop user, this, in my opinion, is the best for learning CS4.
The steps are so easy to understand, the color images enhance every step. It's actually interesting and fun to use! I discovered new methods and approaches not considered before. It was easy to find topics, the layout is straight forward. In less than a week I was enhancing my photos with the information/techniques learned and very satisfied with the results thanks to this book!
I recommend this book, it is a great value at a great price for the CS4 user.

I don't know anything about Photoshop, but this book made it easy. I could follow the steps easily, without getting confused with too much tech-talk. Loved the color images. I'm a photographer, not a computer geek! This book made practicing my craft easy!"
