フィラデルフィア出身の現在23歳。16歳の頃からピアノ･バーでバイトで歌い始めたときはMamas & Papas,Duke EllingtonからRadioheadまで時代を問わず自分な好きな歌ばかりを演奏していたが、19歳のときに自転車で帰宅途中で車に跳ねられ、背骨を含む数箇所の複雑骨折、神経、頭も怪我をする重傷を負い、それ以来サングラスは手放すことが出来なくなってしまった。リハビリのために医者は音楽セラピーを勧め、彼女は曲を書き始め、ゆっくりと確実に回復していくうちにベッド際でポータブル･マルチ・トラックで自ら録音した6曲入りのEP『SOME LESSONS:The Bedroom Sessions』を2005年に発表。フィラデルフィアを中心にフェスやライヴに出演し、静かな中に熱いハートの感じられる彼女の音楽はたちまち話題に。そんな中UCJが契約。昨年ＵＣＪからリリースされたINT'Lデビュー･アルバムが日本でも大ヒットを記録。そしてついに2009年巨匠、LARRY KLEINをプロデューサーに迎えた本作でさらなる飛躍を遂げること間違いない現在を代表する女性シンガー。

初めて彼女の声をカーラジオで聴いた時、一瞬で虜になった！
なんとなく５０年代〜６０年代を彷彿とさせて、どことなくヨーロピアンな香りのする不思議な歌声だと思う。（笑）
久しぶりに発売日を指折り数えて待ったアルバム。

彼女の２ndですがデビュー作の衝撃とは別の意味でいい感じ。
前作では２１世紀に現れたニーナ・シモンって感じで、憂いのある艶っぽい声と自作とは思えないスタンダードのような質の高い楽曲に驚かされましたが、今回は少し肩の力を抜いてリラックスしたムードが漂う聴きやすい作品。
今回も名曲のカバー１曲以外は全部彼女のオリジナルですが、彼女の音楽性の高さが十分にうかがえるバラエティに富んだ作品群です。秋から冬にかけてヘビー・ローテーションになりそうなアルバムです。

エイミーワインハウスのrihabを始めて聞いたときと同じ衝撃を受けました。一曲目。
歌詞といい、歌声といい。20代でここまでやっちゃっていいのかな・・とさえ思えます。
お酒を飲みながらでもいいですし、夕暮れに町を散歩しながら聞いてもいいですね。
noraが好きな人には、本当におすすめ。
