I own and overused the previous edition. I have anxiously awaited an update and am delighted with the result. I have traveled to over 200 National Parks, Monuments, Battlefields, Historic Sites, etc. and use this book to make that possible. It has excellent directions, commentaries and ideas. Some of these gems are like looking for buried treasure and hard to locate. I wouldn't be without it!!

If you want the most up-to-date guide to America's National Parks you must buy this book. Every land area under NPS jurisdiction is organized in alphabetical order and painstakingly reviewed. There are 391 sites listed each with detailed information every traveler needs. I keep it in my backpack for ready reference. DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

Our National Park system is extensive, and it's not just the biggies like Yellowstone and Yosemite. This guide covers the breadth of the parks so you won't miss anything as you plan a trip. Moreover, this may be the only complete guide, in compact form, to the Park system.
