ジョー・リン・ターナーの加入により、イングヴェイの「アク」が薄まった印象を受けます。これを「聴きやすくなった」と解釈するか、「らしさがなくなった」と解釈するか、で、評価が分かれそうです。
　特筆すべきは２点。
　まずは、曲が良いこと。ジョーが歌メロを書いたと思われますが、さすがにメジャーの風格を備えています。バラードも含め、マニアに留まらず、より多くのリスナーにアピールする佳曲が多く収録されています。
　そして、なにしろ音が良いこと。イングヴェイの現在までのキャリア最高の出来と断言できます。これは敏腕プロデューサー、ｼﾞｪﾌ･ｸﾞﾘｯｸｽﾏﾝの手腕に負うところが大きいです。セルフ・プロデュースに固執するイングヴェイはその都度ファンをがっかりさせていますが、外部プロデューサーの起用は大正解です。（ミックス担当も大御所、ﾄﾝﾌﾟｿﾝ&ﾊﾞｰﾋﾞｴﾛです。）

　イングヴェイの作品の中でもバランス感覚に長けた秀作だと思います。入門編としてもオススメです。

　畳み掛ける展開の M-6 「Riot in the Dungeon」、M-7 「Deja Vu」 が特に気に入ったが、名刺代わりのオープニング曲 M-1 「Rising Force」も良いし、続くバラード M-2 「Hold On」の悲痛な旋律も◎。

　M-3 「Heaven Tonight」のような明るい曲を歌ってもある種の気品があり、当初は仰天したこのコンビだが、音楽的には大成功であった。機会があればまた演ってくれないかなぁ、と思う。
