Makes up for the lack of formal nutrition training in med school

This guide (which used to be distributed to every medical student in the country) is an incredibly powerful resource guide for any health provider. It's organized by disease, giving diet recommendations with references to the latest research. I've used it multiple times already since I got my $4 copy off of Amazon. Most of the recommendations obviously point to healthier food, and most of those take the form of a whole-food, plant-based diet.
I wish we could get this back in the hands of every med student. The three hours of nutrition training (mostly micronutrient) I received in med school didn't even touch the importance of diet-related disease and strong diet recommendations for all of my patients.

I'm not a health clinician, but a retired school teacher who has a passionate interest in nutrition and health. If you are someone who has those interests too, you may this book of great interest. It's terrific to be able to look up a condition for yourself, a friend or family member and find some information that could be very helpful. I plan to buy copies for my brother, a pediatrician and my nephew when he starts medical school.
