15年くらい前の本で最新の計算法については抜けているものもありますが(TVDくらいまではある)，物理現象に即した数値計算法の考え方が適切に書かれた良書です．日本によくある数値計算法羅列ものとは大きく異なり，深い理解が得られると思います．

This is a very dense book that covers a lot of information. Hirsch sometimes references volume 1, but I haven't found any need to go back to it. Good formulations for the Euler equations and upwind methods. I've heard a cheaper second edition is coming out soon.
