I was on vacation, my whole family was tired and cranky, we all needed to use the bathroom, and the only thing close by was a tiny, independent book store. After all four of us used the bathroom I felt a bit guilty, so I grabbed one thing off the shelves for each of us, giving items only a cursory glance, not really noticing the high price of this item until I looked at the receipt. When it was bedtime and I broke this out, I was amazed. The illustrations take your breath away, and the story is still fresh, two years later. The book ends abruptly, but it is reminiscent of how children's minds work: building larger and larger from a small original concept, and eventually returning to the beginning, and being done. FANTASTIC CHILDREN'S BOOK!
