The Soft Cover Pocket Plain Moleskine Reporter notebook has a cover that flips opens at the top, 24 detachable pages at the back for quick notes on the spot and can be used both horizontally and vertically. Every Moleskine product is thread bound and has a cardboard bound cover with rounded corners, acid free paper, a bookmark, an elastic closure and an expandable inner pocket that contains the Moleskine history.

I've used little notebooks for many years now, and like with luggage and bags I'm always looking for that mythical perfect one.
I wasn't sure about this at first, but when I came here to order another one (all the paper was used in the previous one in faithful service) I thought I'd jot down a quick review. I've got to say it's a winner.
Traditional notebooks fold open like a book, and since writing next to the spine is more difficult than other areas (due to the curvature of the paper where the binding and paper comes together) you lose more comfortable writing surface than with a reporter style version. And with this one's soft cover also folding almost completely flat it's simply a pleasure to write or sketch in. The cover is supple, with a warm leathery feeling without being too floppy to write on.
Of course nothing is perfect... but at least for now, this is the closest I've found. It won't stop me looking....

My Favorite

This is by far my favorite notebook. I always have one in my back left pocket. The soft cover molds to me and it doesn't hurt to sit on. But, it still has enough heft for me to write on it without a table. Personally, I also like that this one is unlined, although I know that may be a negative for some. Anyway, it is by far my favorite notebook on the market. I can't recommend it enough.

Love Moleskine products... this is first time I've used the "reporter" style, and have found new love. Convenient, easy to write on pages, and fits easily in pocket or purse.
