Album Details
Mixing brand new Schema projects (The Invisible Session; Mario Biondi) with internationally established artists, who contributed to create that very own sound of Schema (Gerardo Frisina; Rosalia de Souza; S-Tone Inc.) here comes the 2nd sampler of Modern Sounds From Italy. The 1st volume of this collection was released in 2003 highlighting the best productions coming out form the Ishtar group of labels. Following this very same blueprint, this new volume presents exciting music productions that have spawned recently such as Was A Bee, 'crooner-styled' jazz intensely performed as in "On A Clear Day". Whereas The Invisible Session play deep and spiritual, gospel-jazz as perfmormed in "I Knew the Way". These new names draw close to other well-known artists from Schema like Rosalia de Souza, here with "Brasil Precisa Balanr" a song from her stunning new album. Soulstance are present with the beautiful "Moon Vision", a classic cool composition. Whilst S-Tone Inc. features with the trendy/stylish "Emotional Dancing", Gerardo Frisina starts the music with "Bluesanaova" a piece from the album "Hi-Note". As it develops, Modern Sounds From Italy 2 features other heralds of the Schema sound, like the duo Fedreghini-Bianchi, "Stay(In Mood)", and The Dining Rooms with "Afrolicious". Some compositions that contributed in establishing Schema at the forefront of the contemporary Jazz scene are also appearing in this album: "Today's Sound" by Intensive Jazz Sextet; "Dreaming of The Past" by Rosario Giuliani Quartetto and the classic "Esquema Da Bossa" by Quintetto x .
