Gordon Uyehara is a master metal clay artist and genuinely nice guy. Both these aspects come across clearly in his excellent book. He addresses a wide range of topics including specific techniques (basic through advanced), projects and mindset, and artists will benefit from reading this whether they are new to metal clay or have many years of experience working with this material. Many artists will be particularly interested in the various approaches to combining copper, bronze and silver clays that Gordon presents, as well as his recommendations on how to construct and fire mixed metal clay pieces successfully. Gordon has a very precise approach to technique and a very relaxed, informal writing style, and the combination is very effective for communicating technical information in an approachable and unintimidating manner. A terrific book by one of the top metal clay artists in the world!
