In this day and age, when you release a instrumental instruction DVD play-along mp3s are a must. Especially when releasing a book/DVD on metric modulation. To not include the exact play-along examples that the players are demonstrating is unforgivable. It basically leaves it to the viewer to either program the examples themselves (a real time-suck), or find players interested in practicing the ideas together (which really isn't useful until you learn it on your own instrument).
Secondly, the material is pretty thin. If you have any knowledge of metric modulation, then what's presented here is probably redundant for you. Once you know what metric modulation is you can pretty much run with it. What would have been useful in this package would have been discussion on HOW to keep one's place when modulating. Should you count? Should you hear the original melody/harmony to keep your place? Should you hear an ostinato to keep your place? The players don't discuss this important topic. They basically run through the examples in the book and that's it.
Very disappointing presentation on a subject that really could use a thorough examination and method for instruction.
