Two complaints: (1)- the first two examples in the book are at a speed I could duplicate, and then, example three jumps to a pick-plus-two-finger roll at 120 bpm sixteenth notes. I've been trying for three days to build up the speed while maintaining clarity on each of the notes, but am still only up to 90 bpm. The transition could have and should have been more gradual. If I had smoking fast right hand technique already, I wouldn't have wanted a book to help me develop it.
(2)- the entire book is a series of specific examples played over specific chord changes. No attempt at explaining the theory behind the construction of the licks is ever made.
All in all, I'm disappointed. Luckily, it was an affordable purchase, especially considering the DVD, but I'm not completely satisfied, nonetheless.
