This book provides a clear, concise and extremely well explained overview of mindfulness meditation for every day use as well as for in-depth healing. The authors approach this subject with intelligence and a great deal of compassion. The piece de resistance is the stillness meditation and the very clear instructions on how to do that particular meditation. I will be using it extensively. Thank you Ian Gawler and Paul Bedson.

I discovered this book just about a year ago at a time in my life in which I was in crisis, and I am very glad I did. This is jam-packed with pretty much everything that a meditation student of any level could want; from very carefully written step-by-step guides to learning how to meditate to plenty of examples of how the various components of meditation could help different people to a lot of discussion of the difficulties of living in today's world and how meditation can liberate one from the constant impact of stress. I am eternally grateful to the authors, Ian Gawler and Paul Bedson. This book is the greatest gift that you can give yourself or anyone else.

I have given this book to 3 friends. It was life changing for me. I followed the guidelines for relaxation, and it relieved several types of pain from my body.

I got this book out from the local library and realised very quickly it was the kind of book I would want to have my own copy of to refer to as a reference book as I develop my meditation practice.

Its a very good book - its well written, the authors are very knowledgeable and explain things in simple terms without patronising the reader. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone who has either never tried meditation, or like me has tried but never really understood what you're suppose to be doing in practical terms.

If you are going to buy it DON'T BUY THIS PARTICULAR BOOK! I live in Australia and ordered the book from the US Amazon site. The packaging was fine and it arrived ahead of its forecast delivery date. However, the book itself is of shockingly poor quality. Every other 'printed to order' book I've bought from Amazon (UK and US) has been fine but this one is terrible! The quality and feel of the paper used for both the cover and the pages is horrible and clearly very, very cheap. The glue and the spine work look like they will soon fall apart and the pages edges look like they've been not so much cut as hacked at with a blunt knife. Very poor quality control that allowed this book to be shipped. 4 stars for the book content - nil for the book itself.
