For Marcel Dzama fans each new book is a treat since they each cover a specific body of work from a gallery show or project. The Infidels showcases his work from 2009 shown at the Sies + Hoke gallery in Germany. The first half of the book showcases the latest Marcel Dzama ink & watercolor artworks. This is followed by a smaller sized insert which is on a super glossy paper and shows what looks like behind the scene stills from a Dzama video. Paper-shift to the next section to show a section of Dzama sketchbook pages. Shift again to show paintings, then some photo collages, and a few images of dioramas and installation views of the exhibition. It's very thorough and the printing and binding are all first class. The binding on this feels rock solid. The cover is probably the best produced cover of a Dzama book with a thick textured board which has been debossed and inlaid with a cutout of the central figure. Looks and feels great. A very nice collectible for Marcel Dzama fans.
