For the most part, Adams steers clear of his later power ballads on this acoustic (but hardly stripped-down) set, instead reaching back to concentrate on such choogling classics as "Summer of '69." Unplugged. いったい何人のアーティストがやってきたことか。
Unplugged. の善し悪しって、誰がやるかってことで決まるよね。
このアルバム、すばらしいアーティストがやるとプラグがないはずなのに迫力が増すという、まさに見本。一度は聴くべし。

アンプラグド・アルバムは数多くあるが、このアルバムはそれらの中でも一級の出来である。このアルバムで「最もアレンジを必要としない実力派ロックスター」であることを再確認できる。彼のスタジオ代表作である「Reckless」と「Waking up the Neighbours」の二枚と合わせて購入したいアルバムである。

こういったシンプルな構成では楽曲、そしてミュージシャンのスキルの善し悪しが浮き彫りになるものであるが、本作そして彼の場合は明らかに「善」の方である。前作アルバムの楽曲が多く使われているが、改めて彼の作曲センスと声の渋さに感動してしまう。流行に便乗しようとする、似非アンプラグド作品が多い中、本作品は必聴。
