YVES SAINT LAURENT is one of the world's most celebrated and influential fashion designers. His work has been the subject of major retrospectives at the Muse des Arts de la Mode, Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Sezon Museum of Art, Tokyo, and other venues. In 1985 Saint Laurent was named a Chevalier de la Lgion d'Honneur by French president Franois Mitterrand, and in 1999 he received the Council of Fashion Designers of America ALifetime Achievement Award."
MARIE-PAULE PELLÉ has served as editor-in-chief of Vogue Décoration in Paris, and as creative director for House & Garden and Cond Nast Traveler magazines in New York. She currently works as a creative consultant in Paris.

Charming and Sweet

My father let me borrow a copy of this book and I love it. It's a mixture of artwork and poetry. I read the entire thing in about fifteen minutes. If I needed quick inspiration on the subject of love, it would be my reference.
My favorite quotes from the book include:

"Love is the only passion that does not suffer a past or future." - Honore de Balzac
"Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without, and we know we cannot live within." - James Baldwin
I'll probably keep a copy of this book until I order one for myself. It's a charming read.

All you need is LOVE

This book is the perfect gift for someone you love, a parent, signifiant other or friend. it is a small book ( a little bit smaller than a postcard), but every image is about love. Most pictures also contain a quote about love. I plan to use quotes from this book for my wedding invitations. it is a book of few words, yet a powerful message.

His illustrations are as graphic, beautiful and feminine as his clothing. Not many people today know anything about the man behind the YSL logo, but this is a great book that lets the viewer inside the colorful heart of this man.
A must own for anyone interested in fashion, art, or love itself.
