著者について

Nitish Singh is Assistant Professor of International Business at the Boeing Institute of International Business at St Louis University, where he is also Program Leader for the Executive Certificate in Web Globalization Management. He has extensively researched and taught in the area of global e-commerce and has published more than 35 papers in peer-reviewed academic journals. He is co-author of The Culturally Customized Web Site (2005) and Proliferation of the Internet Economy (2009).

Highly recommended for those involved in "going global" 2012/2/8

I found Dr. Singh's book to deliver as promised - a strong, and broad foundation of strategies for how to take on localization in support of global business. Any practitioner that recognizes the web as a business' front-door to a global business landscape will understand the value of having a solid localization foundation for decision-making and implementation. Dr. Singh starts with a broad and insightful overview of the issues impacting global business (market entry, legal, CRM, data privacy, etc), and carries through to practical strategies and frameworks to address the "how-to" (manage supply chain to lower costs, build knowledge capital, practical localization know-how, etc), and "what-to-consider" trade-offs (localization vs. internationalization, TM/human/machine translation evaluation, waterfall vs agile, etc). Throughout, Dr. Singh has injected real-life examples and case studies. I enjoyed the read - if there is one book on the topic that addresses breadth and depth, so far this is it. Highly recommended.

I am using this book as a part of my international business courses at both undergrad and grad levels. The book is theoretically relevant to international business education and practically useful for entrepreneurs, corporations and even organizations with global reach. I highly recommend this book.

I found Dr. Singh's book a fresh look at the standard "global business" material I typically find. His views intertwine the broad aspects needed to be successful in the global marketplace with the lessons companies sometimes forget on how to interact on a personal level. This "think locally" lesson is critical in today's c-commerce world where you have global reach instantly. In some way's, Dr. Singh's material takes you back to basics, something that should not be lost even in global business, as the world is definately getting to be a much smaller place.
