ICU Bookは研修医である僕にとってバイブルだ。本を開けば必ず『へぇ』がある。
プラクティカルな実践本というよりは理論本といえる。白衣のポケットに入れるよりは、むしろバッグの中に入れて好きなときに読むのに適していると思う。
本書に書かれている理論を身につけてICUにいけば、人工呼吸器がついてCVやA-lineが挿入されている敗血症の患者さんを目の前にしても、読んでいない人とは違った見方が出来るはずだ。

コンパクトなのに、不思議なことに、内容はあまり原著と差を感じないところに驚く。
電車通勤の身であるが、面白すぎて本書を読んでいるうちにすぐに目的駅まで着いてしまう。難しいACID-BASEの話も簡潔に書いてあり、本書を何度か読んで初めて理解できたという人も多いのではないかと思う。

とにかく、買って損はない。

２冊あると便利です。１　ICUbook第３版日本語版　２　AThe Little ICU Book

ICUブックで臨床に使用する部分を簡単にまとめたという印象です
ただし、図説が少なく、ワシントンマニュアル　Critical careに比べると少しもさったい印象があります。

良い点
ICU bookと連動している

悪い点
マニュアルにしてはちょっと重い
図が少ない

です。
あんまり白衣のポッケ用とは思いません。少なくとも日本人体系には。
トイレでの単語帳みたいな感じにつかってます。
マニュアルならば自分はワシントンマニュアルのほうがいいなぁ。
もしくはタラスコンかなっていう印象です。
