Linuxのコマンド本を買って5年ほど経過したので、新しいコマンド本ということで購入しました。
今までのコマンド本だと、コマンド名で順番に解説か、やりたいこと(逆引き)で順番に解説のいずれかだったと思いますが、この本はどちらでも利用できるように書かれています。さらに、そのコマンドがどのパッケージに含まれているのかも書かれているので便利です。
また、表紙の裏と、背表紙の裏に、viとemacsのショートカットキー一覧があります。コマンドと一緒にテキストエディタのショートカットキーを見ることができれば、この本1冊でいろんなことができるようになると思います。
今までになかったかたちのコマンド本だと思います。

Linuxとは・・・ディストリビューションとは・・・
というところから解説されているので、単なるコマンドリファレンス
というだけでなく、大雑把にLinuxって何？ってところまでわかってしまう。

また表紙裏の「viショートカットキー一覧」はなかなか使える。
Windowsの操作に慣れてしまうと、viのキー操作は別世界。
キー操作が分からないというイライラがこれで軽減されるはず。
(背表紙裏には「Emacsショートカットキー一覧」も付いてます)

もちろんコマンドリファレンスとしてもきちんとまとめられていて
最低限の説明しか書いていないが、
「とにかく使いたい」「仕事で使わなきゃ」という人にとっては
手元にあると非常に便利。

使ってみる→わからなくて詰まる→調べる→使ってみる・・・
のサイクルが非常にやりやすい。
章立ても「パッケージ管理」「ユーザー管理」などで分けられており
逆引き的な使い方もできるし、ABC順の索引で辞書的な使い方もできる。

よく出来てます。

私はFedoraから入ったLinuxまだまだ初心者です。
でも、この本はちゃんとＡＢＣ順だったり行ないたいTIPSで纏めていたり、
でも、それをこなせるのか不安になりますが、たくさん書いてあるのでかなり勉強になります。
又、基礎知識の章もありますのでそこから読めば初心者にもすんなりと入れます。
でも、特にCUIでサーバー立ててしまえば嫌でも覚えないといけなくなるしこの本のありがたみが分かります。
