古き良きアメリカ,
By 色々なことが大げさに書いてあり、たとえば歳を取っている人は「少なくとも300歳以上」とか、ベビーブームで子供が多かったために、フットボールの遊びは数百人で同時にやっていた、などというさりげないナンセンスで笑わせるのだが（著者自身がThunderbolt kid であったという話もその一つ）、読後感としては、失われたよき時代に対する郷愁を僕自身も覚えた。その意味では、著者の処女作、The Lost Continent に近い部分がある。
