Another first, the new edition of Life is printed on paper earning the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label, the "gold standard" in green paper products. Life paper includes 10% pre-consumer waste, 10% post-consumer waste, and is manufactured from wood from well-managed sustainable forests. Additionally, Life's green initiatives include:

一般的な使い方は、これを使ってライフサイエンス系の英語力を上げることだと思います。
これ以上の英語力強化アイテムは存在しないでしょう。

大学初年度向けの生物学の入門書。生物学のほぼ全分野を網羅しており、専門以外はもうこれ以上学ぶことはないだろうとしても、納得のゆくところまでできる。
高校生物の復習から専門分野への橋わたしに十分で、やさしい事柄から段階を追って懇切丁寧に解説されていてストレス無しに読み進められる。図は、カラーで美しく、見ていて楽しい。
さらにホームページが用意されていて、そこでインタラクティブに復習をすることができる。アニメーションやクイズもあり、楽しく学ぶことができる。
英語も平易で、読みやすく、生命科学分野を専攻するならば、早い段階から英語になじむために挑戦するのも良いだろう。
こちらの教科書が平均200ページほどなのに1200ページ弱あるので、日本では１年通年の講義でもやれないだろう。１セメスター用の教科書であるということには驚かされる。ホームページでノートの取り方など事細かに解説してるのもうなずける。
高校生物が面白かったひとには、絶対感動が得られる一冊です。
CD付きもあるようだが、これは付いていない方。
