I've enjoyed drawing since I was two. I have an above average skill and appreciation for art. I often dreamed of growing up and going to work for Disney. I don't buy a lot of "Learn to Draw" books (since I can draw many things). When I do buy them, it's usually a Disney title, and mostly for admiration of the artwork -- not really to learn to draw.
Most "How to Draw (insert your favorite cartoon here)" books are frustrating for me, and impossible for many. I think learning to "SEE" correctly is the first step to better drawing (You might check out "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" for an actual learning tool). This "Tangled" book was a very disappointing. Glen Keane's leading characters are always a true joy to admire, but trying to copy his style by simply drawing circles for heads and trisecting ellipses just won't bring the character to life the way a hopeful artist might wish. While that is always the case, this book is especially disapointing due to the shear lack of pages, and therefore lack of sketched characters to admire.
We really need more "The art of..." books (preferably with hundreds of pages!) and less "How to draw..." books. I could look at and be inspired by Keane's (and others') character sheets all day long, but there's just too little happening in this book and definitely next to zero "learning to draw...anything".
