1. Theme From Lupin III ~ルパン三世のテーマ

「ルパン三世」音楽のオリジナル作・編曲者、大野雄二本人による「ルパン三世」ジャズカバーアルバム。
ジャズピアニストとしての活動を再開し、大野雄二トリオとしてスタンダード曲を演奏する精力的なライブ活動を行っていた大野が、毎年夏に放送される「ルパン三世」テレビスペシャルの中のジャズスポットシーン(ここではルパンたちのほかに、大野そっくりのピアニストが登場する)用に『ラブスコール』のジャズバージョンをレコーディングしたことが、このアルバム制作のきっかけ。
全曲インストゥルメンタル。

 「ルパン三世」「犬神家の一族」「人間の証明」「小さな旅」「水もれ甲介」などを手掛け、作曲家としてあまりにも有名な大野雄二のトリオによる「ルパン三世」の楽曲を取り上げたれっきとしたジャズ・アルバム。
   ジャズのCDとしては近年稀にみる好セールスを記録した大ヒット作だ。確かにルパン効果のタマモノであるがゆえに、眉をひそめる方がいるのも事実であろう。しかし、現在の日本のジャズ・ライヴ・シーンにおいて、最も若者から、一般層まで支持を得ているジャズ・ピアニストであり、実際にルパンの音楽を作曲しているのは彼自身なので、文句のつけようもあるまい。
   何より、言い過ぎかもしれないが、今や日本においてひん死の状態にあるといえるジャズミュージックにとっても、日本に深く根付いてしまった、「音楽をジャンル」という枠組みでくくろうとする妙な既成概念をぶち壊し、純粋に音楽を楽しむためにも、彼のような存在が必要なのではないだろうか？（高山武樹）

先日、とあるバーで友人とスコッチを傾けていた。
その時、店内にかかっていたのがこの「Lupin The Third JAZZ」。
バーのマスターに聞いたところ、「ルパンのジャズシリーズは人気なんですよ。JAZZバージョンが3枚もリリースされているんです」とのこと。
翌日、近くのCDショップにて1枚目を購入。

早速仕事場のMacで聴いてみる。う~ん、さすがにイイ。
MacにはiTunesにてMP3化したデータを残し、CDはクルマへ。
スコッチを傾けながら、クルマを運転しながら、就寝前の読書に…、最適な逸品。超オススメです。

　実は間違って買ったＣＤですが、その出来のよさに驚かされました。呑むときにこのＣＤを流せば、自分の部屋が高級バーに早変わり。ゆっくりとしたジャズナンバーが、非常に良い雰囲気を作り出します。ルパンよりはジャズのほうにウェイトをおいたＣＤなので、ジャズ入門者にもお薦めです。

ルパンのＣＤは何枚か持っていますが、このＣＤが一番ルパンの世界に浸る事が出来るので好きです。
他のJAZZ ver.は楽しくノリながら聴く曲が多いように思いましたが、こちらは大人ムードたっぷりのしっとり系。
夜にお酒を飲みながら、時には夕暮れのドライブ中にピッタリだと思いますよ〜☆★
