3rdアルバム『CUPA』に続き、またもキューバでレコーディングを敢行。“極東ラテン・ロッカーズ”コパ・サルーヴォによる待望の4thアルバム。

   6人組ラテン・バンドの4枚目。キューバ録音の前作『CUPA』を経て、彼らはより大きくなったようだ。今回は歌ものを抑えてグルーヴィーなインストものが中心になり、ラテン・ビートと真っ向から対峙しようという気概が感じられるし、グルーヴそのものも骨太で強靱なものになった。特に、ラテン・ビートの陽気さを思いっきり表しつつ、歌謡曲っぽい哀愁のメロディーを乗せた「ピリオド・エスペシアル」「ア・ゴザール・コン・ミ・コンボ」あたりの曲には、彼らの独自性がよく表れている。同時にスローな歌ものの「コン・フィアンティ・ミスモ」では余裕すら感じられ、それも成長の賜物だろう。現時点での最高傑作。（小山 守）

コパ・サルーヴォまさに渾身の超名盤！
突き抜けましたね。明らかに。凄い凄い。
ルーツ・ミュージックを追求しながら、
ポスト・ロックの胎動をまさに感じます。
キューバンやラテンといったベーシック
な部分だけでも相当深化した感じなのに、
さらなる進化を遂げている感じがします。
今の日本の音楽の良心だと思う。
カヴァーのセレクトも心憎い。
シークレットトラックは某UKニューウェーヴ
のあれですね。本家もカタコトの日本語で、
それを凌駕する出来に圧倒されました。
知らない人はもっとびっくりするだろうな。
知っているとかなりリスペクト度が変わるかも。

コパ・サルーヴォ1年半ぶり4枚目のアルバムは、
前作よりも、ファットになった極東ラテンロッカーズ。
1月には初のワンマンライブも控えていて、
非常にノリに乗ってるんじゃない。

CopaSalvoは周りが盛り上がっていけば、すっごいいいライブを
すると思うので、1月30日は代官山UNITに集まろう！
