1stの荒々しさを求める方には物足りないかもしれないけど、むしろ2ndが気に入ってる人の方が聴きやすいと思う。O.N.Oのトラックは先行シングルのPHASE3を聴いても分かるようによりダンサブルでまさにクラブ色の強いのになり、それはこのアルバムでもしかり。だからハーコーな音を期待しちゃダメ。でも中には重めのギターサンプルとかビート使ってるのもあるから、アルバム一枚の中でも静と動のバランスが上手く取れてると個人的に思います。で、音の方は賛否両論ありそうだけど、BOSSのリリックは今までも良かったけどさらに上のレベルへ。リリックに関しては捨て曲無しで、一時期MJPに所属していた故FREEZER BELLやオーストラリアで服役中のBIG JOEに宛てた言葉とかは北の独自の繋がりが感じられて良い感じだし、「三十過ぎが守ってちゃ先は短い」って言葉にも表れているように、BOSSが自らが歳を重ねたことを自覚し、今の状況を全て飲み込んだ上での新しいステップの言葉を紡いでいるのが素晴らしい。赤く燃え盛る炎じゃなくて、蒼く揺れる真に熱い炎って感じのテンション。リーディングに近い語りが多くて聴いていて退屈になるかもしれないけど、リリックは一つ一つが格言レベル。だと思います。自分の中では長く付き合えるアルバムです。大人による大人の為のヒップホップ。そんな形容が合うのではないでしょうか。

流石の完成度です。落ち着いて聞けます。

７年前、初めて彼らの音に触れて「こんなにも鼓舞される音楽があるのか」
と衝撃を受けました。その時のような、1st2ndの持つ「のし上がってやるぜ的な
ギラギラの上昇志向」は薄くなったけどその分、大人の音楽に仕上がっています。
ギラギラしたい人は1st2ndを聞いてください。

歳を取り、良い意味での落ち着きを身に着けつつも、上を目指すことは忘れない。
そんな人にはひたすらお勧めします。特にラストトラックのMotivationは良いです。

余談ですが、ライブは段々パワーダウンしてる気がします。

ギャングスタ気取りのラップにうんざりしている人にとっては傑作のアルバムだと思います。
今好きじゃないという人も、きっといつか良さがわかる、そんな名盤。
