Great knit designs that are vintage and timeless trend!

Just received the book and I love it! As the title says, this book is filled with classic designs that are very fashionable. For the skill level, I would say this book is above intermediate who are completely comfortable with knitting jargon and techniques as this book does not supply any basic skills, patterns, or translation of knitting abbreviation. Most of the designs are for women, but there are couple men's sweater included. Mostly sweaters, then some jackets, cardigans, and some hat designs. I uploaded the contents page that shows few more designs that are included.

nice patterns, VERY limited sizes

Lovely pictures - that is why I purchased it in advance. It was widely reviewed and had good words regarding its vintage roots. All true. What they don't tell you is that the actual bust size only goes up to 40 on each and every female shirt/sweater/dress pattern, compared to other designers who understand that knitters sizes are diverse. Yes, I am sure that there is a way to find out how to "size up" (only 1 size more is all I needed). But that isn't what I pay good $ for. If I purchase a book, I need it to have as much detail as possible for my projects to be successful. 9 out of 10 designers do a great job including a wide range of sizes on their projects. Unfortunately, this one did not. I hope that she will do so with her next book...or perhaps create a website with "size up" instructions. If you do, you will create a fan for life :-)!

The book is fine. The patterns are okay. The rating is based on my inability to know what is in the book and is more critical of the publisher and Amazon than the actual book. When I buy a knitting book on line, I am buying a pig in a poke. I can gain very little knowledge of what the patterns are, what size needle I will need to use, whether I will find a pattern I really want to knit, etc. The preview pages are inadequate. They need to include small pictures of each pattern, the approximate needle size needed to knit the item and the type of material used. Consequently, for me, this book provides very little of what I was looking for and it was basically a waste of money. Go to a knit shop first to look at the book, and if you like its style and find patterns that meet your requirements, buy it there.
