Effective　Javaも持っていますが、その実践編というかんじです。こちらの本からも参照しているので、併用がお勧めです。
間違い探しをしながら、何が問題か、よりよい解決策は？と考えさせられます。
短いコードで考えさせられることがたっぷり。
まだ読破していませんが、これから楽しみながらじっくり考えていきたいと思います。

JAVAの実務経験が半年以上あれば、問題の半分は解けるように思う。
むしろ、解けなければ困る。ここに説明されていることは、JAVAの落とし穴であり、それに気がつかないということは意図せずにバグの温床となっているかもしれない。
中級者でも確認の意味で読んでみる価値はあると思う。
しかし、なによりも中級者以上が読んで得られることは、すでに当たり前のように思っていることが、初心者にとっては躓きやすい段差だった、ということの再発見である。
もし初心者を教育する立場にある人ならば、ある種の「気付き」のようなものを与えてくれることだろう。
しかも、この本は、それにとどまらない。
本来、JAVAはシンプルで理解しやすい言語として設計されたにも関わらず、この本で上げられているような落とし穴がないわけではない。本来のコンセプトにそぐわない、どうして、そのような状況になっているのか、JAVA5に至るまでの歴史的考察、そして言語設計者、ライブラリ設計者への教訓、アドバイスを示している。
言語やライブラリを使う側に限らず、それらを作る側にとっても、この本は一読の価値はあるだろう。
