Huge and beautiful book of IWC watches and history

This book was intended to cover 142 years of IWC history over nearly 600 (large) pages with about 500 illustrations. This "magnum opus of IWC" (according to IWC itself) also showcases ten of the great watches from the corporate history: these include the original 1868 pocket watch, the iconic 1948 mark 11 pilot watch, the 1980 titanium chronograph, and the 2000 limited edition Portuguese. If you're an IWC fan, this is the book for you, though it's expensive, it also looks and feels expensive as a book. It's obviously not a general interest watch book. You might also be able to get one from your IWC dealer, a good number of copies have been distributed.

I found this book sold in a IWC boutique but I chose to buy it from Amazon because it is substantially better value for money. Given the same good quality of the book found in the boutique and here, the price difference justifies my decision to buy it online. This is a very comprehensive coffee-table book that bring you back to the early founding years of this remarkable watch company. Good pictures and definitely a must for the IWC or for that matter, any watch aficionados.
One point to add: I bought this book from Amazon in May 2001 USD 157 but it has since increased to USD 226.
