Katia and Marielle Labeque received their first piano instruction at ages three and five, and then studied at the Paris Conservatoire. The sisters are famous for their unusual ensemble precision, their great musicality and the breadth of their repertoire. They have appeared as soloists with conductors like Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa and Guiseppe Sinopoli. In this concert they perform with the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico and its co-founder/conductor Giovanni Antonini on historical instruments at the Vienna Musik Verein.
