著者について

Paul Bryn Davies has worked as a professional artist and illustrator all his working life. In addition to producing countless magazine illustrations, Paul has worked as an advertising illustrator, has had his work published as posters, greeting cards and fine art prints; fantasy being the dominant theme. Paul has also produced over 150 book jackets for some of the world's leading authors, including such luminaries as Christopher Pike, Lyall Watson, Robert E. Vardeman and Stephen King. Paul has designed and illustrated some 13 book jackets for Stephen King including the author's first ever No. 1 European best seller.

If you can already draw, this book probably won't help you much since it is too simplistic. A lot of the examples are just head studies; there are only a few whole-body dragons. If your drawing skills are minimal, I also question the value of this book. It breaks down the author's illustrations into simple shapes without any suggestions on ways to draw eyes, scales, feet and claws, shading, etc. to be able to create your own original work instead of just copying.
