これ、カスタマーレビューなんかで、子供と楽しめると書いてあるので、買ったんです。エリックカール物は、はらぺこあおむし、Brown Bear, Polar Bear他、何冊かもう持っていたので、これ以上買う気はなかったんですよ、絵が似てるし、なんて思ってて。 でも！！！カスタマーレビューを読んでふらふら購入して正解でした。 初めて読んで見せた時から、もう、目が輝いて、首を振ったり、腕を振ったり。ちゃんと猫ちゃんのページも真似して。親がビックリでしたよ。ホント。

体の部分の名前と「Ｉ can do it」満載。,

様々な動物がその持ち味でポーズを取ります。ペンギンは頭をくるっと回し、キリンは首を曲げます。 動物の名前は文字として出てきませんが、エリックさんのコラージュは子供にも何の動物かよく分かる描写です。 動物と同じポーズが出来ると、子供たちは「Ｉ can do it！」と答えます。 この単純なフレーズの繰り返しですが、とても面白いです。 動物たちがこれできる？とからだの一部を動かします。その部分の名前もついでに自然と覚えちゃいます。 学生の時に、よく字幕スーパーの映画で「I did it!（やったぜ！）」なんて読んでいて、何でdidでitなんだと思った頃もあったのですが、こういうフレーズは一種の決まり文句です。 絵本と同じポーズを真似をしながら読んであげるのも楽しいですよ。

動物のまねをしてI can do it. というフレーズが何回となく出てきます。 これを読み終わったあとに、子供達に、Can you do it? と、聞きながら何かをやってみせると I can do it.とかならず返ってきます。 できないことをわざと聞いてみると、こまった顔をしますが、 No,I cannot.と教えると、これまたうれしそうにまねをして くれます。 とっても役に立つ絵本です。
