This accessory includes three double-sided 21" x 30" tactical battle maps -- a total of six beautifully rendered encounter locations, each one suitable for any D&D game. Each map is laid out on a one-inch-scale square grid, allowing it to be used with D&D miniatures and/or card stock tokens.
Two of the mapped locations are new, depicting a dark cathedral and a haunted chapel with an adjoining cemetery. The remaining four map locations are picked up from out-of-print D&D products and present adventure locations tied to the "haunted temples" theme.

Great maps, great value

Poster maps are the best value for good-looking encounter areas. They're easier to set up than dungeon tiles and have a lot more detail than something you'd draw out on your own. Once you build up a collection, you'll have maps for just about any major encounter area you can think of.
The map pack comes in a nice folder that you can re-use to keep your maps safe. It has four reprinted maps from Hellspike Prison, Thunderspire Labyrinth, Dragondown Grotto, and one other source. Two of them are brand new.
My only complaint is a lack of half-sized maps like those contained in the Monster Vault, Threats to the Nentyr Vale. Half-sized maps give you twice the encounter areas on the same paper and same ink.
I'd love to see a map pack containing four reprints and then eight half-sized encounter areas.
Anyway, for $9, this is a great reusable product with some excellent fantastic maps to use in your games.

NOT Tiles--Battlemats

So, just got these puppies in the mail yesterday, so I haven't been able to actually use them in a game, but I must say, after opening the package and inspecting the elements, that this is the direction WotC should be going w/ their game supplements, in addition to the dungeon tile sets they have been publishing in the past. This product contains 3 dual-sided battlemats with different styles of ruined/haunted temples printed on them. Pretty typical stuff here, and of course, as mentioned above, you can supplement this set with other dungeon-tile sets to make the maps more personalized.
PRO's--typically beautifully printed large, high-detail battlemaps. 7 maps in total (one is a smaller temple with a first and second story printed on the same side, with the longer map divided into two sections that are printed side by side). Cool and versatile set that can be used for many different situations and can be expanded with other tile sets easily.
CON's--printed on paper, so if you are not careful, the maps/mats can easily fold/bend/get-Mountain-Dew-spilled-on-them/etc., etc.. The durability is the real reason why I only give this set 4 stars. However, if you are careful and take care of the battlemaps, they should stand up to wear and tear reasonably well, and at $9.00, it's not a huge loss if they do get destroyed. Let's just hope WotC keeps this set in print so the cost doesn't skyrock like older, OOP tile sets, right?

Not Tiles - Just Ok Product

As others have said, be careful because these are NOT DUNGEON TILES. There are 3 folded maps. So, my review may be tainted by a bias toward tiles and a dislike for folded vs. rolled maps. PROS: Beautiful artwork on BOTH sides of the map. Two-sided maps are very important to me and they delivered in this case. Of the 6 maps (on 3 sheets) I really like 4 of them; a preferential thing, but they are all good and could add a lot to your gaming. CONS: Folded paper maps. If this is the future of D&D maps I will purchase less. I buy all the tile sets. Its about the same prices as tiles but falls short in terms of quality. Why can't they roll them in a tube? CONCLUSIONS: I tried these and am not horribly disappointed but will probably pass on the folded map thing in the future. The exception may be if they show full images of all the included maps and I can judge based on a full appraisal. Not bad, but could be better.
