Haunt me!

Haunt Volume 2 is a great read with great art. Yes, the artist changed. Vol. 1 was illustrated by Ryan Ottley, but he worked from layouts by Greg Capullo, who stepped up to continue the series (after Mr. Ottley decided to let it go in order to concentrate on "Invincible"). Mr Capullo does an amazing job illustrating Haunt his style is a little darker but maintains the standard set by Mr Ottley and fits the series well. The story picks up a while after the first volume but brings you up to date from a new characters perspective. I don't want to spoil any of the twists in the story so I'll just say its a wild ride for Haunt as he gets used to his new job and takes down a major villain. I recommend you read the first volume first since this is a direct continuation of that story. The ending also introduces a new menace with supernatural powers similar to Haunt himself.

In this second volume of Haunt the story definitely progresses the further adventures of two brothers with a very unusual situation. Another serious positive factor is the dynamite artwork that pushes these six issues to their utmost capacity with plenty of goons, mad scientists, assassins, violence, & gore. While Haunt is pretty much an amalgam of established antihero archetypes it's still a fun read that keeps you interested in this nefarious & warped new world from the minds of Todd Mcfarlane, Robert Kirkman & Greg Capullo. My only real complaint is there are no extras like a foreword or a sketchbook section but other than that the price here on Amazon is unbeatable.

With this volume starting, we have Greg Capullo take over art duties. Now I loved his work on Spawn, but seeing his work on Haunt seemed so great to have his pencils back in comics again. The last time I had seen it was in Spawn Endgame. But moving foward-- We have a special stand alone issue that helps new readers out, but just works as a great tale. The way he mirrors exactly what happened in the first issue is amazing. Capullo truly is the cinematic master of comics. The action in this volume is turned up to like twenty as we see insane amounts of blood and action happen. The best and most cinematic of stories happens in this arc and you can only want more. The cliff hanger at the end is extremely great.
