1982年リリースのホール・アンド・オーツの最高傑作。二人が自分の持っている力をどう出したら最高かを完全に理解したアルバム、とも言えるだろう。既に20余年の月日を経ているが未だその輝きを失わないオーラは得難い上質ポップスとして燦然と輝いている。
ヒット曲(1.4.6)連発だが今聴くとマイク・オールドフィルドのカバーの『Family Man』が一番いけてる気がします。『One On One』もボーカルの素晴らしさとリズム・ボックスのアレンジそしてラリー・ファーストが担当したシンセサイザーのプログラムの確かさで最高!
これ以上の上質なポップスはないでしょう。必聴盤。

１９８２年のこのアルバム、これまでの彼らのヒット曲の数々に、またしても「どうだ」と云わんばかりの最強アルバム。
アナログ盤では当時両Ａ面で印象に残っている。１曲目の「MANEATER」はあの当時異色にも感じた楽曲、でも新鮮でよくアメリカン・ポップ40などのMTVで見かけたものでした。
本当によく出来たアルバムだと思います。DARYLが大好きな曲でもある「ONE ON ONE」はLIVEで今も披露してくれるし、「FAMILY MAN」も入っていて、当時のベスト盤かとも思われていた名盤である。　　本当にこのアルバムには彼らの類まれなる才能が閉じ込められている。

個人的には「ITALIAN GIRLS」のローマの休日にかけて作ったJOHNのお茶目な歌詞を聴きながら爆笑し、「OPEN ALL NIGHT」「GUESSING GAMES」 「GO SOLO」はやっぱり今聴いても、勢いというかPOWER全快と云った感じのアルバムです。　

当時聴いていた方も久しぶりに聴いて、きっとやっぱりHALL&OATESは２１年後の今聴いてもいい！！　そう思えるはずです。
BEST盤もいいけれど、たまにはオリジナル盤も聴いてみてはいかがでしょうか？　別の楽しみが見つかるはずです。

ダリル・ホール&ジョン・オーツは、８０年代のディスコシーンを飾ったヒットメーカーでしたね。
彼らの数あるヒット曲の中でも、このアルバムオープニングのマンイーターは最高にイカス名曲です！！
ファミリー・マンもカッコイイ作品です。
ポップなイタリアン・ガールズも大好きです。
正しく、油の乗り切った彼ら絶頂期の最高傑作アルバムだと思いますよ！！
後のリイシュー盤には、ボートラとしてヒットシングル３曲の嬉しい別テイク収録です。
３曲とも聴かせるリミックスですが、
やはりマンイーター(12”バージョン/スペシャル・エクステンデッド・クラブ・ミックス)
の出来が最高ですね。
８０’ｓファン必聴、必携の名盤ですよ！！
