I have always loved Gulliver and I was delighted by this adaptation. The art is lovely, richly detailed and brightly colored, without sacrificing the 18th century context of Swift's satire. The author has done a magnificent job of distilling the Liliputian section of the book into a format accessible to young readers. Cheers to the author and to Random House for being faithful to the story. Another reviewer objected to the scene in which Gulliver urinates on the (tiny) town to put out a fire. While can understand that this might make some parents uncomfortable, it is part of Swift's story, and to remove it would require extensive changes to the narrative. I would also point out that the townspeople drive Gulliver out after the episode, creating a great opportunity to talk to your child about why we only pee in the bathroom!
