This gem of a book is written in rhyme and introduces you to two adorable little characters named Spot (a loveable little pooch) and Goo (a little guy eager to learn the rules of being an attentive listener.) Mom corrals them both one night before bed and reads them a story riddle that will make them first think then try to guess the answer. In order to do that they have to be very still, very quiet and concentrate on her words and clues so they can solve the riddle puzzle.
She first goes through all the things the riddle is NOT...augmenting these NOTS by colourful, action-packed, kid-delightful ( I think I just made that word up...oh well you get it) pictures that will have your child laughing out loud. The illustrations are vignettes bursting with imagination and fun, starring animated animals of every sort, and multicultural characters celebrating life together. The book is designed to teach the importance of active listening and it reaches its objective for sure. I know your child will enjoy this heartwarming book and learn a valuable lesson of the importance of being a good listener.
