green monsterの顔の部分が一つずつ、Go away!という
かけ声とともに消えていきます
その度に子供達は何が消えたのか考えさせられます
英語ばかりでなく、記憶力もきたえられるようです
最後に目だけが残って、Go away!と言うのですが、
今度はそう簡単に消えません
こどもたちはびっくりします
「声が小さかったんじゃない？」というと、
部屋が割れるような大声でGo away!の大合唱です
この本に出てくるモンスターと同じぬいぐるみが
アメリカで売られています
顔の各パーツがマジックテープで取り外しができる
ようになっています
本とともに使用すると、なおいっそう
子供達が喜びます

幼児英会話講師です。レッスンに使うための本をしばらく探していましたが、この本は、すばらしいです。まず、色の使い方が独特です。そして、モンスターが出てくる様子、去っていく様子がとても上手に表現されています。次は何が起こるのかわくわくさせられる本です。

仕掛け絵本のすばらしさを見せてもらった気がします。 子供達は、だんだんと出来上がるモンスターの顔にドキドキしながら、絵本を見つめています。 "Go Away"の掛け声と共に今度は、だんだんと消えていくモンスター。 何度も繰り返し読んでとせがまれ、読み返すうちに子供達は、色の名前と顔のパーツの名前を自然に覚えていきます。

3年経ちぼろぼろになってきた絵本。もう一冊下の子のために買いなおそうかと考えています。
