語法の本であるが、用語の説明もクリアだ。一般的な意味と法律のコンテキストで用いられている意味の違いにも言及しているので、初学習者にもわかりやすい。もちろん語法についても細かな説明がなされている。契約書などを起草する時また訳す時に大いに役立つだろう。 読むたびに新たな発見がある、親切な良書だと思う。

ほとんどの方が英文契約書を「書く」よりは「読む」機会が多いんではないでしょうか。
ちまたに出回っている英文の契約書は古くからのひな型を踏襲したものが多く、無駄な言
い回しや不必要な重ね言葉がたくさん使われています。それが英文契約書らしさを醸し出

でも、実際に英文契約書を書く場合には、なるべくシンプルに、どちらかと言えば、契約
書らしさがないプレーンな英語を書くことが理想的でしょう。
そういう場面において、この辞書は、これは不必要、これも無駄、という具合に切り捨て
てくれます。こういうレファレンスは非常に頼りになると思います。
契約書や判決文によく出てくる動詞について法律面から詳しく解説されているので拾い読
みしてもためになりますよ。

Legal Writing in Plain Englishの補助教材として購入しました。
法学部の出身でもなく一般教養で法学関係の単位を６単位とった
だけなので、法律用語は理解の範囲を超えていました。
なので、先生に聞いても理解できなかった（単に英語力が不足して
いるだけかも）用語を引くと。。。
私の頭でも理解できる平易な言葉で説明していました。
