ソロになってからのベスト盤は「MAGIC」と「入門編」と、そしてこの「GOODBYE EMI」があります。
最近は「入門編」を聴くことが多かったのですが、久しぶりにこれを引っ張り出して聴いたら
これが一番好きなベスト盤に思えてきました。
味わい深いとでも言いましょうか。
一番落ち着くべスト盤です。

ヒットシングルが多いのは「MAGIC」、最近の曲が多く入ってるのは「入門編」です。
「GOODBYE EMI」はEMIからポリドールに移籍するタイミングで置き土産的に発売されました。
当時のインタビューではワザと売れなかった曲を選んだと言ってましたが、
裏を返すとこれは本人の自信作を集めたベスト盤のように思えます。
わかる人には、きっとその良さがわかってもらえると思います。

一時期は入手困難でプレミアが付いていましたが、また普通に買えるようになりました。

RCサクセション活動停止後、RC時代とは違った路線を歩き出した清志郎のベスト盤。
この1枚を聴くだけでRC時代とRC外の清志郎の音楽の違いが納得出来る。
RCより清志郎個人が好きな人にはお薦め。

東芝EMIとの契約満了時に制作された編集盤。
シングルのみの曲が多数収録されていますが、漏れた曲もまだあります。
その他は、数年前に出ていた代表曲いっぱいの編集盤「MAGIC」と被らないように選ばれています。
よってアルバムを聞き込んだファンの愛着度に近い選曲と言えるでしょう。

個人的にも清志郎のソロでは（頭２曲を除いて）はずせない曲が揃っていると納得の選曲。

３はフルエンディングの未発表バージョン。
ジャケットにやる気を感じさせないのが良くないですが、いい編集盤です。
