著者について
Beth Taylor is an Air Force brat who roamed the world before finding her heart’s home in Seattle. She’s reported and edited at newspapers and magazines in Florida and the Pacific Northwest, and written a variety of travel articles and guides. Degrees in journalism and political science have been helpful in understanding and describing the lands she’s explored, but as any traveler knows, the tools that really count are curiosity and a sense of adventure.

This was a great little book that I used in Seattle last year in August. It was my first visit to Seattle and it had all the information I needed to get around the city. Any numbers I needed and the map in the back was very helpful.

We recently spent a long weekend in Seattle, and this book proved to be very worthwhile. It is small enough that it fit into my purse (which is small). I used it a lot for the maps (complete with transit lines), hours of various attractions, and recommendations for things to do and see.
I had also purchased "Top 10 Seattle (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guides)" - DK Publishing, and barely ended up using that one at all. I found the details in this Frommer's guide to be much more helpful.
I am usually very dependent on my car, but we parked at the hotel on Thursday near the space needle, and were able to rely entirely on walking and buses through Sunday. Having the map on the inside cover of this book was really helpful. One thing I did find that I needed was bus-stops for the main routes we were using. Particularly the bus 99 (free/waterfront) route is currently different than the book showed (and honestly most of Metro's documentation showed, so it must be a very new thing). I went to Metro's site for the latest info and used a marker to update the map. I also added in bus stops for a couple of the key routes.
I enjoyed this book so much that I plan to even purchase the one for my local area ... it has lots of little hidden tidbits of history and sites, and I think it will be fun to be a tourist at home, too. :)

Great layout, great info! The prices are a little out of date for some attractions, but everything else is contemporary enough to be useful.
