Soon after this debut, Biafra would fall into Lenny Bruce's trap of parading his legal hassles instead of making art. On Fresh Fruit, though, he throws firebomb after firebomb, hitting every chosen target with "I Kill Children," "Holiday in Cambodia," "California Uber Alles," and "Let's Lynch the Landlord." Dated? Album Details

1993 reissue on Alternative Tentacles of the hardcore punker's 1980 debut for the label. Hailing from San Francisco & led by Jello Biafra, the album features 14 tracks, including their amusing remake of 'Viva Las Vegas', plus 'Kill The Poor', 'Holiday In Cambodia', 'Let's Lynch The Landlord' and 'California Uber Alles'. The full title is'Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables'.

些か名前に問題があるVocalのJello Biafra。存在感があります。
曲名や歌詞にもかなり問題があるようです。

　デッドケネディーズの１ｓｔアルバムのデジタルリマスター盤。「Ｋｉｌｌ　Ｔｈｅ　Ｐｏｏｒ」などの代表曲が収録されている。ヴォーカルスタイルはジョニー・ロットンのパクリあり、演劇的ですらあるビブラート・ボイスありと多彩。音も硬軟織り交ぜ。キル・ザ・プアーなどといった、PC無視の歌詞も実にパンク。オススメ。

アメリカ西海岸ＰＵＮＫの中枢といえば、彼らＤＥＡＤ　ＫＥＮＮＥＤＹＳ。デビューアルバムとなる本作品は戦争、政治、ＤＲＵＧなどをテーマにしていて、「ＫＩＬＬ　ＴＨＥ　ＰＯＯＲ」に出てくる歌詞なんかは演説のよう。（笑）サウンドはオリジナル・パンクとハードコアの中間的な音作りを展開していて、ジェロの早口でトーンの高いボイスと独特なリズムは、自然と拳を突き上げ、体を動かさせるよ。また、アメリカの夢を徹底的に否定したりとブラック・ユーモア的な感覚もなかなかオモシロイ☆ジェロといえば、アメリカでも有数のインディー・レーベルＡＬＴＥＲＮＡＴＩＶＥ　ＴＥＮＴＡＣＬＥＳを主宰していることでも有名だよ。
