In which Barbra Harris and Jodie Foster (Mom and Daughter) simultaneously wish they were each other, and manage to get trapped in each other's bodies. Forced to spend a day in this way, the realize that it's hard being a teen and it's hard being a mother. The problem with this movie is that you don't really need a movie to help you realize that. But it's fun to see the two bungle up each other's lives, and the scene where Daughter (in Mother's body) accidently calls her father "Daddy", only to have him slightly turned on, is hilarious-if a bit frightening. Barbra Harris and Jodie Foster are both good, the latter's robust energy cheerfully clashing with the weariness of the former. The confidence with which they tackle their reversed role is satisfying to watch.

いまや古典と呼んでいいディズニーのコメディー映画。７０年代風のテイスト満載です。ある朝、娘（ジョディ・フォスター）と母親（バーバラ・ハリス）が突然入れ替わってしまう。それでわかる、母の苦労、娘の悩み。だまされるのはもっぱら父親、弟、友人たちですが、このとりつくろいを中心として物語はＬＡで進んでゆきます。上機嫌なコメディ、まだローティーンのジョディ・フォスターは、さすがの貫禄ですが、バーバラ・ハリスの母親が意外にカワイイ。それはこっちが歳をとった証拠、かな。なんということはない、といえばそれまでですが、たとえば「ハービー」の「ラヴバッグ」シリーズに通じる楽しさがあります。一家で安心して見られる、ディズニーの王道的作品でした。
