The book was shrink-wrapped and brand new. However, it did not contain the code or insert required for PharmaSim, the simulation required with the course. No where in the description did it say the code for PharmaSim was not included.

This particular edition, with the integrated PharmaSim, should come in plastic wrap because of the access code located inside the book that allows you to enroll in the online simulation. The "new" copy I ordered for $139.99 (along with several classmates who ordered from Amazon) was not plastic-wrapped and did not contain the access code. I ended up purchasing the access code on the PharmaSim website for $39.99 and returning the book to Amazon. I repurchased a non-integrated copy through Google Shopping for $40. This whole ordeal caused me to be a week behind in assigned readings. Beware of ordering this book if you need the PharmaSim access code... especially if timeliness is an issue!

Amazon fails to mention that the shrinkwrap has been removed and the PharmaSim website subscription key has been removed. Not very useful in a textbook that revolves around a simulation.
